Alexis A. (Varner) Nosko

Alexis  A. Nosko, 65, Johnstown, died November 29, 2016 at Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 1, 1951 in Johnstown, the daughter of Homer W. and Eleanor (Alexander) Varner.  Preceded in death by father and husband, Robert Nosko in 2001.  Survived by mother and brother, William Varner, both of Johnstown; nephews, Bradley Varner, New York and Brett Varner and wife, Karie, Pittsburgh and niece, Amanda Varner, Pittsburgh.  Also survived by sister-in-law, Donna Hagerich and husband, Donald, Johnstown and brother-in-law, Thomas Nosko.  Alexis was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral.  She retired from the housekeeping department of Memorial Medical Center.   She enjoyed raising birds and loved all animals.  At the request of the family, there will be no visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 AM, Monday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.  The Very Rev. James F. Crookston officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests a tree to be planted or a donation be made to the charity of one’s choice in Alexis’ memory.
