Bernard Riek

 Bernard Riek, 85, Johnstown, died September 16, 2016.  He was born on August 29, 1931 in Johnstown, the son of the late Phillip and Mary (Neubauer) Riek.  Preceded in death by siblings, Carolyn, Josephine, Edmund and Leonard Riek.  Survived by loving wife of 57 years, the former Ruth Rose and children, Mary Casto and husband, Ben, Michelle Gacka, all of Johnstown; Marci Kokus and husband, George, Indiana; Melissa Alt, Johnstown; Michael Riek and wife, Mindy, Boswell and Mark Riek.  Also survived by grandchildren, Tony, Kathrine, Nathan, Jonathan, Adam, Morgan, David, Kirsten, Ashley, Aiden, Samantha, Michael and Olivia.  Bernard was a US Army, Korean War Veteran, having served in Japan and retired as an electrician from Bethlehem Steel Corporation.  He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to attend a   funeral Mass celebrated at 11 AM, Monday, Rev. William E. Rosenbaum.  Inurnment Immaculate Conception Cemetery.  At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.
