Betty Lorrayne (Shrum) Boyle

Betty Lorrayne Boyle 87, Westmont, died January 11, 2017, at St. Barnabas. She was born February 24, 1929, in Robinson, PA, daughter of the late Christopher and Nettie (Kelly) Shrum, and she was also preceded in death by her husband Richard F. Boyle, Sr., in 2006, and brothers, Daniel, Patrick and Harry Shrum, and sisters, Helen Shrum and Bea Howard.  Betty is survived by children, Richard F. Boyle, Jr., married to Cheryl, Latrobe; Patrick M. Boyle married to Lisa, Pittsburgh and Diane E. Altland, Pittsburgh.  Also survived by grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Justin and Zachary Boyle and Emily, Nicholas, and Lauren Altland.  Betty graduated from Boliver High School. She was also a 1973 graduate of The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, she then taught reading in the Westmont Hilltop School District, until she retired. She volunteered at The Cambria County Library and Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where she was a member. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church on Monday at 10:00 AM. The Very Rev. Mark Begly.  Entombment Grandview Mausoleum.  Friends will be received Sunday from 3-7 PM, Sunday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.
