Doris Jean Reese

Doris Jean Reese, 92, Johnstown, formerly of East Conemaugh, died May 29, 2017 at The Villa. She was born June 3, 1924 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Glenn and Helen (Thomas) Grove. Preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Raymond Dean, whom she married January 28, 1949; brother, Thomas Grove, sister, Nancy Foust.  Survived by daughter, Janet wife of John Pudliner and son, Richard, husband of Dina (Cichon); grandchildren, John Pudliner (Heather); Lisa Crynock (Rob); Kevin Pudliner and fiancée, Carol Walsh; Carley Spadea (Dom); and Lauren Reese; great-grandchildren,  Austin and Baylee Pudliner; Avery Crynock; Ryan and Alex Pudliner.  Also survived by brother, Jon Grove, St. College and sister-in-law, Betty Grove, East Taylor Twp.  Doris enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved her multi-gifted family and missed her husband every day.  Doris was a member of Conemaugh 1st United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Ladies’ Circle.  She also attended Prayer Meetings which she thought was very important.   Friends will be received 3-7 PM, Friday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday.  The Rev. Valerie Mize officiating.  Interment Richland Cemetery. “The family would like to thank Dr. Kastelic and the wonderful staff at The Villa and also, Interim Hospice for their loving care of Doris.”
