Dorothy Mae Jeffers

Dorothy Mae Jeffers, age 83, died peacefully at home on October 10, 2017.  Born in Johnstown, PA, she lived most of her life in the local area where she worked for the Johnstown School District in the cafeteria for more than 35 years.  She loved the interaction with the children and enjoyed watching them grow.  She liked to travel and explore new places.  As an avid bird lover, she spent hours feeding and watching birds.  She was a collector of things related to owls, a species she especially liked.  She is survived by her son, Ken, and his wife Anne Jeffers of Naperville, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.  She has many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country.  A short Grave-side service and interment will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11AM at Grandview Cemetery, 801 Millcreek Rd, Building 1.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Audubon Society at Audubon.org.
