Jack E. Molchany

Jacob Edward “Jack” Molchany, 56, born March 1, 1961, of the late Edward and Pauline (Sottile) Molchany. Jack passed away on the morning of September 21, 2017, in the comfort of his home.  Jack was a pillar of his community, and a friend to many.  A great father, husband, son, brother and friend, Jack will be remembered for his sense of humor, his faith, his brilliance, his kindness, his many hobbies, and his willingness to help anyone.  He approached his final challenge the way he did every challenge in life; with courage and grace. In addition to his mother, Jack is survived by his wife of 29 years Mindy S. (Robinson); sons Andrew (Drew), Kyle and Bradford (Brad), brothers, Edward(Ed) & wife, Julia(Gormley) Molchany, Paul Molchany; father-in-law Raymond Robinson, niece Kate Molchany. Jack attended Westmont Hilltop then continued on to Penn State University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering before being commissioned as a Nuclear Propulsion Officer aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was employed at Edward Jones as a financial advisor.  Jack served as Scoutmaster for his 3 sons’ Boy Scout Troops, was a member of the Westwood Kiwanis, a Past Grand Knight for Council 4604 Knights of Columbus & Junior Achievement board member.  Friends will be received Sunday from 2-8 at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.   Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, at St. Clement Church, Fr. Wm Rosenbaum.  Interment at Grandview Cemetery, where military rites will be held by Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287, Marine Corps League.
