Janet (Tritt) Jones

Janet Jones, 86, Westmont, died January 21, 2017 at McCullough Place.  She was born March 29, 1930 in Warren, the daughter of the late Steve and Maude (Bierly) Tritt.  She is survived by loving husband of 47 years, James R. Jones, and step-daughters, Kathleen Drozdiak (Russell), Cynthia Pankratz (Frank), and Virginia Hartland (Dennis);  8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Janet graduated from Penn State University in 1953. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta.   She was employed by Penelec in Oil City; Pennsylvania Power and Light in Allentown and was an Extension Home Economist in Clearfield County for Penn State University, until she retired in December of 1968.  Janet was a loyal “Penn Stater” and loved watching their football games.  You could always hear her chant “Hail to the Lion.”  She also enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and her vacations in Florida. Janet was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.  Friends will be received from 10 AM, Friday until time of funeral service at 11 AM, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Rev. Art Moffat officiating.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Deacon Fund at Second Presbyterian Church, 565 Park Avenue, Johnstown, PA  15902.  Entombment Grandview Cemetery.
