Marion V. (Holton) Whitlow

 Marion V. Whitlow, Washington, D.C., Professor Emerita of Nursing, Purdue University, died on Monday, October 24, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was the wife of 20 years to Emery Whitlow, Sr. (deceased) and mother to Cecily Patterson (Tyler Melton-deceased), Gary Patterson, and Carolee Upshur (Rommel, Sr.).  Marion joined the faculty of Purdue University in 1971, where she became an Associate Professor of Nursing.  She became Professor Emerita of Nursing in 1997.  She was the loving sister of William F. Holton (Judith), and M.Clayborne Holton.  Preceded in death by mother and father, Mary Thelma and William S. Holton, and sisters, Dorothy McKinney and Betty Holton Humphrey.  Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and a god-son.  Family and friends will gather from 10 to 11 AM, Saturday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.  Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to University Hospital Neurological Institute, Brain Health, 3619 Park East Drive, Suite 211, Beachwood, OH 44122.
