Mary Stopp

 Mary Stopp, 97, Davidsville, formerly of Upper Yoder Twp., died November 13, 2016 at her residence in Laurel View Village.  She was born May 24, 1919 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late D’metro and Kathryn (Katinsky) Korywchak.  Mary was happily married to John G. Stopp for 60 years.  Preceded in death by husband, John, brothers, Joseph and Michael and sister, Rose Phelps.  She is survived by brothers, John Moxie, Johnstown; Frank, Bedford, TX and sisters, Ann Gaydosh, Johnstown; Judy Beisner, Colorado Springs, CO and Kathryn Combs, Daphne, AL.  Mary is also survived by a myriad of loving nieces and nephews along with dear friends and their children.  As a member of Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, Mary was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and peace as she joyfully enters into His Kingdom.  At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 PM, Friday at the Chapel of Laurel View Village.  Pastor Jeffrey Bissette, Chaplain, officiating.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Laurel View Village, 2000 Cambridge Drive, Davidsville, PA  15928.
