Ralph F. Kraft, Esquire

Ralph F. Kraft, Esquire, 79, Johnstown, died January 30, 2017.  He was born May 25, 1937 in Johnstown, the son of the late Jacob F. and Ruth M. (Porter) Kraft.  Survived by loving wife of 52 years, the former Joanna K. Alsedek, whom he married November 28, 1964; son, Ralph P. Kraft and wife, Elizabeth M., Revere, MA; daughters, Lynn D. Kraft, Johnstown; Margaret J. Kraft and partner, Stacy Holder, Cambridge, MA and Amy D. Helmestetter and husband, Charles R., III, Pittsburgh.  Also survived by sister, Rebecca Papciak, Beaufort, SC.  Ralph served in the United States Army Reserves.  He was a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and The University of Pittsburgh Law School.  Ralph practiced law in the Johnstown area for 50 years and was also employed in the Cambria County Public Defender’s Office and the Office of the District Attorney.  He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM, Friday by Rev. George M. Gulash. Friends will be received from 4-7 PM, Thursday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Resurrection Catholic Church, 408 Eighth Street, Johnstown, PA 15906 or St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 927 Franklin Street, Johnstown, PA 15905.
