Rev. Wilma G. (P) Horner

Rev. Wilma G. Horner, (Pastor Wilma), 83, Westmont, died March 10, 2017 at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh.  She was born on March 15, 1933 in Mineral Point, the daughter of the late Sherman and Deborah (Shaffer) Page.  Preceded in death by brothers, Charles Sherman Page and Francis Owen Page.  Survived by loving husband of 64 years, Robert James Horner, children, Debra (Horner) married to Larry Gehlman, Boswell; Robert Edward Horner (“Toby”) married to Tracy, Sweet Valley; Gregg Steven Horner married to Kathleen, Frederick, MD and Traci (Horner) married to Michael Krzywicki, Pittsburgh.  Also, survived by grandchildren, Meghan and Stephen Ganser; Abel Horner married to Alex Valenzuela; Attie (Horner) married to Matthew Frey; Grace Drinkard, Owen and Paige Krzywicki. Wilma influenced the lives of everyone she knew.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and soon-to-be great grandmother.  The imprint she left on her family, as well as every person she met, befriended, taught, counseled, and led is immeasurable.  After raising her four children, she was led to serve God as a minister.  She helped pastor at the Westmont United Methodist Church, and the St. John’s United Church of Christ before becoming the Pastor of the Hopewell United Methodist Church where she joyfully led the congregation from 1995 – 2016.  She was a long time member of Women’s Aglow Fellowship and served as president.  Wilma was an active member and spiritual director of Altoona-Johnstown Tres Dias and led many bible studies throughout her life.  Thank you, Wilma, for all of the love and wisdom with which you have left us.  Heaven has gained a very special angel.  Friends will be received from 2-7 PM, Tuesday and from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM, Wednesday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Rev. John Mize and Rev. Arlene Bobrowicz officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to Westmont United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1428 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, PA 15905 in Wilma’s memory.
