Deepest sympathy to the family. Rick and I knew Rich from Joe Johns, JHS and the Y. He was a good friend. Always friendly and in a good mood. I remember Dean Walter from UPJ saying he was talking to a good friend of ours and, of course, then mentioned Rich's name. Dean Walter spoke very highly of Rich. He touched everyone with his kind, friendly manner.

Dear Rita: I was so sorry to learn of Rich's passing and wanted you to know that we are thinking of you at this difficult time. I remember that Judy and I enjoyed visiting with you and Rich at the Freedom Fund dinner several years ago. We were glad to have met him. Please accept condolences on behalf of all of us (friends, former colleagues and students) at Penn Highlands Community College.

Sincerely,
Ted

Rita. I read tom's condolence and it was truly from the heart, It was a reminder of the many times Gladys and I visited and Red and I would tell our story's. . I am sure that over the years you heard them many times over and put up with us. We were in the spring time of our life and our life was judo. Rich was rewarded with many friends and was loved. He was a true friend and Gladys and I will miss him in our life.

Heartfelt sympathy over the loss of Richard. Know of our thoughts and prayers for you and Dana during this time of loss. St. Paul assures us that "eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor even has it so much as dawned on the heart of man what God has planned for those who love him".

Rich/Family: Frank Spramelli called me early Sunday morning, July 9, to advise of your passing. I dreaded opening the website obituary page today, since we all hoped you'd be with us for another year or so. Your presence at UPJ/Vets Club during the late 60's-early 70's was such a distinct pleasure for all of us who knew you. Your sharp and dry wit, self-effacing humor, character and straight forward honesty were unequaled. I am so very pleased that you, Frank and I had a chance to get together during the summer of 2014, the last time I saw your smiling face, I might add, you name came up several months ago, while my wife and I were in town for the weekend and Steve Wozny, Frank and I reminisced over coffee about the "UPJ days". Among other things, laughing about the contorted purchase of a car you bought from another Vet and possibly forgot to payback the faculty instructor for the $25 you borrowed from him to purchase it. "Jeff", the instructor, has no doubt long since forgotten it, and probably laughs about it himself.

Bless you my good man, I bid you a final and very sad farewell. To the family, an extraordinary husband, father and a righteous man you had in your presence. And, by the way, you'd make Morgan Freeman proud.
