Robert Joseph Fisher

Robert Joseph Fisher, 92, Southmont, died July 20, 2017 at Arbutus Manor.  Born June 17, 1925 in Johnstown, son of the late Robert and Hermine (Stahr) Fisher; and also preceded in death by sister Valeria Fisher.  He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, the former Louise McCormick, and children: Robert F. Fisher, married to Padma Yanamandra, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Mary Margaret Fisher, Pittsburgh; Constance Louise Fisher, married to Graham Murphy, Herndon, VA; and Rev. Captain Charles C. Ugo; and grandchildren Brianna Murphy and Ravi Kieran Fisher. Robert, a 1943 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School, was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater. He worked as a banker, retiring as a Vice-President at Johnstown Bank & Trust Company in the Trust Department. Robert formerly served as Treasurer of Lee Hospital and as President of the Cambria County Chapter Association for the Blind, and an active member of the Romeo Club.  Robert and Louise were awarded The Prince Gallitzin Cross in 1999.  A member of the Serra Club of Cambria County, and Our Mother of Sorrows Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Tuesday, the Very Rev. Mark Begly and the Rev. Captain Charles C. Ugo. Interment Grandview Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287 Marine Corp. League.  Friends received 3-7 PM, Monday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice, in memory of Robert.
