Robert C. Krug, 81, Johnstown, opened his eyes for the first time on March 11, 1935 on the family farm at Nicktown, PA and closed his eyes for the last time at his home in Johnstown on February 21, 2017 surrounded by family.  The eldest of six offspring.  Preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius F. and Grace (Peters) Krug, two infant daughters, Julie Ann and Marie Anne;  brothers, Ronald J. Krug and Curtis Leo Krug, and brothers-in-law, Dean Bittner and Charles Wirfel.  Survived by his loving and caring wife of 41 years, Judith A. (Buckingham) Krug, children, Kent Robert Krug, Jacksonville, FL; Robyn Marie Krug, Acworth, GA; Patrick (Vanessa) Krug, Jacksonville, FL; and Andria Jane Krug (Corbin)Younger, New York City;  grandchildren, Jennifer Krug, Annette Krug, and Maia Younger;  sister, Connie Wirfel, Munster; sisters-in law, Eileen( Rettger) Krug, Fulton, NY; Rose Lee (Bonnano) Krug, Nicktown; sister, Patricia ( Joseph) Popson , York; and brother, Wayne ( Sandra Stiles)Krug of Nicktown;  brother-in-law, Edward (Georgia) Buckingham, Conway; sisters-in-law, Edna (Bruce) Gilman, Weston, CO; Doreen (Kevin) Shuttlesworth, Harrisburg;  and his beloved sheltie,  Wyatt.  Also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob and his father founded the Nicktown 4-H Club in 1951 and became proud 4-H fair exhibitors.  An Army veteran he served during The Korean War Era in Newfoundland, Canada with the 347th Aviation Engineers. An avid hunting and fishing enthusiast, he founded the family’s first hunting and fishing cabin on the shores of the mighty Kinzua Dam until moved by the U.S. Forest Service.  He went on to establish a camp on a private location near Kane, PA. The new camp was called Camp Num Num of which he was a charter member. His career path started out on the farm with the cows and migrated to journeyman bricklayer. He later left brick laying due to health issues. He pursued a 40year plus career in construction, automotive sales and the automotive insurance industry. During his career in automotive sales he managed to attain the Chevrolet Hall of Fame in Truck Sales. He served as District Service Manager for Acceleration Life Insurance. He retired from Consumers Financial Group out of Camp Hill, PA as Regional Supervisor.  During his career path, he worked with the Pennsylvania Builders Association as Assistant Apprenticeship Director. A graduate of Spangler High School Class of 1953. Attended Williamsport Technical Institute. Met his wife while attending the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.  Graduated from the Dale Carnegie School of Public Relations and Effective Communication received at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana , PA. Bob is so very thankful for the wonderful family and friends he has met on his journey thru life. God bless you all!!  Robert was also a member of  Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday.  The Very Rev. Mark S. Begly, VF. Friends will be received from 3-7 PM, Friday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where military honors will be conducted by General Charles T. Menoher, VFW, Post #155.  Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Nicktown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute,Development, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
