 Thomas F. Coyle, 61, of Johnstown died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a long illness. He was born Oct. 3, 1955, in Johnstown, son of the late Rosetta (Forshaw) and Thomas P. Coyle. He is survived by his stepsons, Nathan Dufresne and two step grandsons, Lincoln and Jaxson of Irwin; Jason DuFresne of San Diego, Calif., and the following siblings: Rosemary, wife of Sam Anderson, Valley Grove, W.Va.; Marilyn, wife of Ronald Roseman, Johnstown; Cynthia, widow of Lee Beck, of Johnstown; Victoria, wife of Jeffrey Perratone, Derry; Elizabeth Coyle, Johnstown; Julia, wife of Gary Sykes, Brimfield, Ohio; James Coyle, Ephrata; and several nieces and nephews, Melanie Cassell, Michael Anderson, Timothy Anderson, Kristopher Beck, Diana Beck, Kathleen Perratone and Jeffrey Perratone. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Kady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Valerie Ferner. Tom was an electrician and video machine technician. He loved fishing and would have spent all his time on the area's streams and lakes, if possible. He also was a sci-fi fan and loved Star Trek - all the TV series and the movies. He enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. Tom had a joy for life that could not be diminished even while he battled health problems through the last several years. He will be missed by those who knew his good nature and humor and his memorable smile. Memorial service 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown. The family requests those who wish to make a memorial donation to send it to the Mountain Laurel Chapter of Trout Unlimited, 1745 Regal Drive, Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
