Vesta L. (Benjamin) Mims

 Vesta L. Mims, 84, Upper Yoder Twp., went to be with the Lord, September 10, 2016 at The Allegheny Lutheran Home of Johnstown. She was born September 25, 1931 in Natchitoches, LA, the daughter of the late George and Virena (Talton) Benjamin.  Preceded in death by husband, Cornelius Mims and siblings, an infant brother, Phelph and Roy Murphy, Esta Besant, Kisiah Moran, Veltra Spann and Thomas Benjamin.  She is survived by sister, Rev. Gladys Myers, Johnstown; brothers, Justus Benjamin and wife, Dorothy Givens, Alexandria, LA and George Benjamin, Jr., Natchitoches, LA; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Vesta was employed at Bestform as a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and craftworks. She was a former member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church, where she was a Deaconess, a choir member and a Sunday School teacher.  Vesta is a member of Praise Center Full Gospel Church, where homegoing services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, Bishop Charles Scales officiating..  Friends will be received from 4-7 PM, Friday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
