Vincent Patrick O'Donnell

 Vincent Patrick O'Donnell, 97, Johnstown, died December 2, 2017 in Johnstown.  Born November 8, 1920 in Johnstown, son of the late P. Vincent and Stella (Boyle) O’Donnell.  Preceded in death by wife Vera J. (Lee) O’Donnell, brothers William, John and James, sisters Stella, Delores & Mary Blanche. Survived by children Maureen Alwine, Patrick, married to Katrin Babik, both of Johnstown and Mary Ann Parfitt (Arthur), Charlotte, NC and sister Anita Dillon, Johnstown.  Also survived by grandchildren Shannon Parfitt, Patrick & Daniel Alwine, Kaitlin, Vincent & Shawn O’Donnell and great grandchild Amaya Rae O’Donnell, Logan, Leighton and Lochlan Pritchett.    Navy veteran of WW II.  Employed in yard dept., Bethlehem Steel.  1939 graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School and University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Social Science.  He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and a great fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and a member of A.O.H.  Member of Visitation of  the BVM Catholic Church, where friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM.  Interment at St. John’s Cemetery.   When ye come to the place where I am lying, kneel and say an “Ave” there for me.  And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.  Arrangements in charge of Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.
