Al was a friend of my brother, Bob Wagner, in high school. They played football together as well. I was only in 7th grade when Al and Bob were seniors and so looked up to them both. What a surprise when I was finishing theological seminary in my early 50's, to get to know Al when he came back to Johnstown for a time in the late 90's. He was very supportive of my preaching, and knowledgeable about public speaking. He passed along several helpful tips that I never forgot. He was real gentleman and I am glad I got to know him if only for a short time. May God's peace ever enfold him.
