Bernard Lewis Statler, Jr. “Bud”, 66, of Johnstown, passed away August 16, 2017 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center after a long battle with brain cancer.  Born August 17, 1950 in Johnstown, son of Margaret and Bernard Statler, Sr.   Preceded in death by mother.  Survived by father, loving wife of 18 years Mary, children, Matthew (Katie) of Cresson, Mary Pat (Samantha) of Charleston, WV, and Jennifer Haus of Shippensburg, PA.  Also survived by grandchildren Liam, Erin, Damian, Michael, Jaden, and James.  Bud was a 1968 graduate of Bishop McCort High School.  He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe and a Master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He worked in accounting and was employed as a supervisor in statistic finance at Homer City Generating Station for 26 years, previously SCM in Johnstown.  More than anything, Bud enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, and throwing the ball with his faithful dog, Sammie.  He was an avid sports fan, and loved playing, watching, and coaching numerous sports.  Bud rarely, if ever, missed one of his children’s games, no matter the location.  He was always a huge supporter of all Pittsburgh sports teams, as well as Notre Dame and Bishop McCort athletics.  Bud also loved to be outdoors, whether it was working in the yard, playing golf, or spending time at the beach on family vacations.  Bud’s family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone in the offices of Dr. Zitnay, Dr. Sbeitan, and Dr. Comas.  Also, special thanks to the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center intensive care and palliative care units.  Friends and family will be received from 4-8 PM on Friday at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.  Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday at St. Clements Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
