McDay, Charles Gaston, 66, Johnstown, lovingly called “Charlie”, took hold of God’s hand on October 12, 2019. Charlie was born on July 24, 1953, to the union of Marie Twyman Tucker and Robert McDay in Cincinnati, Ohio. At a young age, the family moved to Johnstown. Charlie was a Graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and played in the Trojan Marching Band. After graduation, he moved from Johnstown and spent approximately 30 years in Keen, New Hampshire. After he retired, he returned to Johnstown, PA, to spend his last days in retirement. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Juanita Gibson McDay; mother, Helen Marie Twyman Tucker; father, Robert McDay; and brothers Robert, Jr.; Elder Ellison J. and James J. McCray. His memory will forever be cherished by his sons Charles and Jermaine McDay, brothers Benjamin (Tanya), Columbus, Ohio; Terry, formerly of Johnstown; sisters Faye McCray, Providence R.I. and Rosalie McCray of Johnstown; aunt Shirley Jackson of Johnstown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friend Sheila Shay. Service time will be 11 am on Saturday, October 19, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., with Bishop David March officiating. (PTBMortuary.com)
