Charles Tullis

July 18, 1933 ~ February 3, 2019 (age 85)

Charles Tullis, 85, Johnstown, died February 3, 2019.  Born on July 18, 1933 in Louisville, AL, son of the late John and Bertha (Baxter) Tullis.  Also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  Survived by wife, Sylvia (Yates) Tullis and children Ray Hawkins, Terence (Veronica Denise), Tamara Hopkins (Vernon), Shawn Tullis (Maria), and Kathleen Floyd (Reginald C.).  Also survived by brother-in-law Paul Yates, sister-in-law Sherrine King, friend John; 10 grandchildren including Nicole, Marcus, Dominique, Savanda, Robert, Vany, Gabriel, Quaddell, Regina and Raven, along with great-grandchild Zahke, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Charles was a Korean war veteran, serving in the Army,  an auto mechanic, and also a member of Trinity Asbury Church for 25 years, upon its closing he then became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and gardening, and was a member of Hi-Toppers.  Friends will be received from 4-6 PM Wednesday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, Revs. Valerie Conrad-Dembinsky and Julius Porcher, officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery, with military honors by Conemaugh Valley Det. #287, Marine Corps League
