R. Dean Jobe, 89, Johnstown, died April 5, 2018 at Amity Place Douglassville, PA. He was born June 16, 1928 in New Centerville, PA, the son of the late Ransom M. and Hazel M. (Geary) Jobe. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis A. (Rehn) Jobe; sisters Betty Liggett and Jean Boyer and brother William Jobe. Survived by daughter, Lyndee Henderson and husband, Larry, Plainfield, IL; son David Jobe and wife, Carol, Exton; grandchildren, Ellyn Edmonds, Ross Henderson, Lisa Jobe and Laura Jobe; great-grandchildren Jacob and Abigail Henderson and Bryce, Brady and Blake Edmonds. Dean graduated from New Florence High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. Dean served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the 2nd Armored Infantry Division in Germany during 1951. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel in the accounting department. Dean was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Freemasons and was a Past Master of Cambria Lodge 278 and a regional instructor with the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. His passions were writing, archeology and hiking. He enjoyed observing the migration of raptors at the Allegheny Front Hawk Watch.
