Dorothy Kunkle, 105(almost), Westmont, died November 18, 2019 at her residence. Born November 20, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Walter and Marion (Puffer) Gray. Also preceded in death by loving husband of 75 years, Charles Kunkle, Jr., in 2013. Survived by son Kim W. Kunkle and wife Cynthia, Johnstown, grandchildren Lindsay and Kyle Kunkle. Also survived by nephews William Price, Craig Kunkle, Jr., Robert Kunkle, and niece Connie Price. Graduate of Kent Place in 1932, and of Duke University in 1936, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and played field hockey. Member of Westmont Presbyterian Church, CVMH Auxiliary, Garden Club of Johnstown, and Girl Scouts of America, where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Also instrumental in starting the Sunnehanna Jr. Golf Program which weekly reserved time for juniors to play and learn the etiquette of the game of golf. In recognition of her efforts, Sunnehanna Country Club dedicated the third hole in her name on June 27, 1985. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, horseback riding, manicures, flowers, gardening and animals: cats, squirrels, birds and even deer. She lived a long life in her home of 61 years thanks to Sally Sargent, Stacey and all the loving caregivers who attended her. Friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM, Rev. Rene' Whitaker officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
