GEORGE E. DAUGHERTY, (“Doc”), Johnstown, passed on to eternal life on September 10, 2019. Born August 29, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio., son of the late Alvin and Pearl (Lentz) Daugherty, and wife, Barbara, who passed away February 24, 2008. Also predeceased by his brothers: William, Lawrence, James, and Robert; sisters, Eilleen and Betty. Survived by son, Gary, married to Susan (Taylor) of Manchester, CT. George is also survived by daughters, Karen, married to David Bradley of Centerville, OH; and Iris, married to Michael John Berardi of Johnstown, PA. George married Barbara, the love of his life. Together they raised three beautiful children. George was also blessed with seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; also survived by brother, Alvin of NY. George was a Korean War Army Veteran receiving The Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal; Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars; Army of Occupation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; and Combat Infantry Badge. George was an incredibly talented craftsmen. Most family members and friends have something in their home made by George. A heartfelt “Thank you” to Windber Hospice for all the love you gave our Dad, Pap-Pap and friend. Many thanks to Dr. Warshel, Danielle, Diane, Heather, Pastor Ron and Sarah Jo. Friends will be received on Friday from 3-7 PM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM, Rev. Ron Sinclair officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery where military honors will be held.
