John E. Younkin, 82, Johnstown, died December 22, 2018. He was born August 2, 1936, in Johnstown, son of the late John R. and Elizabeth (Miltenberger) Younkin. He is survived by his sister Frances E. Blough, and her husband Gary E., Penn Hills; 3 nephews, and cousins Arthur Younkin, Marian Messek, and Norma Younkin. John was a graduate of Conemaugh Township Schools, and the University of Pittsburgh. He had a full career at the FDIC, as a bank examiner and instructor, retiring after 25 years. John began his second banking career with First Summit Bank, working his way to a VP position, before retiring again after 20 years. John also was an active member of Franklin St. United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Thursday from 3-8 PM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Terry Knipple officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
