Margaret Ann (Calderwood) Harrington

Margaret “Peggy” Ann (Calderwood) Harrington, 83, of Yorba Linda, CA died October 18, 2017 at home.  Born January 16, 1934 in Johnstown, PA daughter of John B & Ingeborg (Tappert) Calderwood.  Preceded in death by parents.  Survived by sisters Lelia E. Calderwood, Johnstown, and Elsa T. Schlentner (Karl L.), Clarion, PA.  Married to Charles T. Harrington of Yorba Linda, CA and survived by daughters Leanne Harrington and Kristina Smith and son Sean Harrington (Dea), and grandsons Ethan and Nolan Smith. Peggy graduated from Ferndale High School, Class of “1951”, then receiving her B.S. from Wittenberg College in Springfield, OH and earning her Master’s Degree from Ohio State.  She taught mathematics in Columbus until her marriage when her husband’s work as an engineer and technical writer for Rockwell took the family to Cocoa Beach, FL and later Yorba Linda, CA for the space program.  Peggy was very active in her church, especially it’s music ministry, and worked with the finances for a commercial plant nursery in California and served as a docent at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda.    Funeral service was held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran in Fullerton, CA.  Burial was Tuesday, October 24.
