Sarah C. "Shelly" (Schellhammer) Heinlein

Sarah C. “Shelly” Heinlein, 81, Johnstown, died September 5, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center.  She was born July 30, 1936, in Brookville, daughter of the late Vincent and Sara Belle (Kroh) Schellhammer, and was also preceded in death by a son Vincent B. Heinlein.  She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald G. Heinlein; children, Mary B. Cook (Jeff), Port Republic, MD; Timothy Heinlein (Amy Sinoply), Lorton, VA; Ronna Jean Long (Doug), Johnstown; Kathleen Dudash (Erik), Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Dillon, Jacob and Noah Cook, Alyson Heinlein, Spencer Pearson, Ethan and Isaac Dudash.  Also survived by sisters Ellen Patricia Doverspike, Naples, FL and Doris Romaine Van Dervort, Hales Corner, WI.  Shelly was active in Girl Scouting, first as a scout then as a leader.  She worked at the switchboard at Mercy Hospital, and was a member of Grove Ave. United Methodist Church.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Rev. Dirk Wooten officiating.  Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
