William Van Inscho, “Bill,” 93, Richland Woods, went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 6, 2017.  He was born May 29, 1924, in Johnstown, the son of the late Ralph and Ellen (Van) Inscho. Also preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Louise I. (Hoover) Inscho, son, Craig William Inscho and sister, Jane Leitenberger.   He is survived by his sons, Keith married to Karen, and Brian married to Joan; and his grandchildren Scott, Kristen, Lauren married to Matt King, and Brett married to Jessie and great-grandson, Grady William King; he is also survived by many nephews and nieces that he loved as his own children.  Bill was a 1943 graduate of Johnstown High School and enlisted in the United States Army.  He returned home to marry his high school sweetheart before shipping out to serve in the in the European Theater.  He returned home to work at C&BL Railroad for 19 years and then worked at Fulton Piano and Organ Company as a store manager in Johnstown and Altoona.  Bill was President of the Logan Valley Mall Association and retired from Sears and Roebuck.  He enjoyed his sailing and golfing with his wife, into their 70’s.  Bill also enjoyed spending time with family and also could be found volunteering in the office of his church, First Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the Men’s League and also enjoyed his time spent with the guys, working at Camp Sequanota.  Bill had a gentle hand for family pets, and was known as a kind and generous man.  The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial Medical Center for the comfort they provided in Bill’s last days. They would also like to thank the staff at Richland Woods for the care, they too provided during both Bill and Louise’s stay.  A special thanks to Danielle for her tireless support for dad in his time of crisis.  Friends will be received from Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. The Rev. Dr. Robert R. Wagner officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery, where military service will be conducted by the Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287 Marine Corps League.
