Alice M. (Sampson) Favor

Alice M. Favor, 89, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Born on January 1, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Carlos Sampson and Alice (Simpson) Sampson.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, wonderful sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, sharing a good meal, and creating lasting memories with the people she loved.  Her warmth, kindness, and quick wit made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Sampson and Alice (Simpson) Sampson; her son, Glenn Grant; and her siblings, Marion (Sampson) Carroll, Lee Sampson, and John Sampson.

Alice is survived by her husband, Freddie Favor; her children, Alice Favor, Timothy Grant (Marcy Naugle), Lorenzo Favor (Katrina Williams-Favor), Alfonse Favor (Tina Favor), Albert Favor, and Sabrina Favor; her brother, William Sampson; a cherished legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family members; and dear friends.

Alice’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved, whether it was sharing a meal, enjoying a shopping trip, telling stories, or filling a room with her laughter.  Known for her loving spirit and unwavering devotion to her family, she had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, strength, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.  Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to know her.

Family and friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown, PA 15905, on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service celebrating Alice’s life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
