Brenda (Gunby) Rose

Brenda (Gunby) Rose of Johnstown went home to be with our Lord May 7, 2025. Born June 30, 1949 daughter of Charles Gunby, Sr and Fronmie (Allen) Gunby. Preceded in death by parents, loving husband of 42 years Donald “Ducky” Rose, sister Arlene (Gunby) Cade, brothers-in-law Burley Rose Jr  and William Harrod; and sisters-in-law Barbara Harrod, and Maxine Rose. Survived by children Derek (Krista), Sean and Jerome; step-daughter Ingrid Dawn Rose; grandchildren Lyric, Kaden, Faith, Shiloh and Nyeilah. Also survived by brothers Charles Gunby Jr (Helen) and Tony Gunby, sisters Pearl Hodge, Linda Toney (Emmanuel), and Bernine Triplin and brother-in-law Dennis Rose (Donna). Special nieces Lisa Hellems and Sonja Harrod, special nephews Jack Triplin, Demetrius Toney, Kelly Gunby and Gregory Gunby; godson Quatrell Rose;  special friends Janice Thomas, Cordy Gunby, Edna Wyatt and Elaine Meadows and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Brenda was a graduate of JHS. She took pride in her family and her home and was always dressed to impress. She would show everyone who she welcomed into her home her extensive jewelry, capodimonte, and antique collection. Brenda and Ducky created a life together right out of a romance movie. Special thank you to forever family and friends who have turned into family Nelson, Gerald, Dan, Lora, Miss Janice, Coni, Brian, Mickey, Skip, Tara, Jeff, Connie, Ray, Tom, Pam, and the Select Specialty nursing staff. Services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at noon, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd, with friends being received from 10 AM until the service.
