Catherine F. “Kay” Hack, 100, Johnstown, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024. Born April 8, 1924 in Johnstown, daughter of Willliam and Alma (Keafer) Green.. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Clarence L. Hack; daughter, Doris Poad, son. C.W. (Jack) Hack; siblings: Mary Shellhammer, Ethel Livingston, Helen Green, William Green, Emma Bee, Margaretta Grove and Elizabeth Pudliner.. Survived by daughter, Karen Bennett (Harry), Johnstown; daughter-in-law, Janyces Hack, Minnesota; Loving grandchildren: Kristin Brennan (Shawn), Kimberly Turner (Kyle), Jamie Poad (Michele), Heather White (Carl), Jennifer Bennear (Chris), Douglas Bennett (Shelley) Great grandchildren: Kaylin and Kelley Brennan, Quinn and Juliana Turner, Kaitlyn, Alex, and Ryan Poad, Carl and Isabela White, Callie Bennear and Addison and Carter Bennett and many nieces and nephews. She worked part-time at Dunnies Inn, but her most important job was wife and mother. She was a great cook and was well-known for her pies. She belonged to the Menoher Heights Fire Company Auxiliary where they would have Community dinners. People all over the county would come for her pies. She loved playing pinochle and was a member of the Tuesday Afternoon Pinochle Club. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the great grandchildren, She was member of First Lutheran Church. Friends will be received from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Picking Treece Bennett Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 5. Funeral service will be held at Picking Treece at 10:00 am Friday with Pastor Nancy Hoover, officiating. Donations may be made to First Lutheran Church or Windber Hospice
