Clair T. Wood

Wood, Clair T., 91, Johnstown, died September 14, 2020 at his residence.  Born February 23, 1929 in Johnstown, son of the late James C. & Sylvia (Owens) Wood.  Also preceded in death by brothers, Cloyd, James, Dean, William, Don, and sisters Anna Mae Henderson and Doris Drier and grandson Andrew Wilcox.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  Surviving are his son Daniel (Renee), daughter Pamela Gehlmann (Daniel); grandchildren Nicholas and Alexandra Gehlmann and Benjamin and Emily Wood.  His grandchildren were the loves of his life.  Special thanks to incredible neighbors Michelle and Greg. He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict and later in the PA National Guard.  He retired from Bethlehem Steel with over 40 years of service. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., where service will be held at 10 AM on Friday Fr. William Rosenbaum officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery with military rites by Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287, Marine Corps League.
