Doris (Palmer) Terek

Doris M. Terek, 92, formerly of Johnstown, died January 4, 2022 at the Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, PA.  Born May 14, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of the late John F. and June (Stem) Palmer.  Also preceded in death by her husband, John F. Terek, Sr. in 1986; son Dennis; grandsons John and Michael; sisters Pauline Cook and Betty Bimble and brothers John Palmer and George Palmer.  Survived by daughters Kathleen Gelbogis, Laurel, MT; Darlene Gounaris (Richard), Peoria, AZ; sons John, Jr. (Gale), Wernersville, PA; and Richard, Seattle, WA.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Kathleen Daniel, Chicago, IL; Patricia Huff (Robert), OH.  Doris was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Elizabethtown Seniors.  She enjoyed playing pinochle, watching game shows, bingo, relaxing in Rehoboth Beach and swimming at Masonic Village.  She spent many winters in Arizona.  Friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary on Wednesday, January 12 from 9 AM until departing for 10 AM Mass at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Rev. Matthew Baum officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
