Elizabeth “Betty” F. (Werner) Smith. passed away on September 7, 2021. She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Hankey) Werner. Preceded in death by her husband Melvin E. Smith who passed in 2008, ending a union of 58 years; her sister Dorothy H Schneck and brother William E. Werner. She is survived by her sons Richard E., married to the former Cynthia L. Lawson and Timothy W., married to the former Karen Polak, all of Johnstown along with grandchildren, Kristen L. (Smith) and husband Christopher Baker, NC; Karlee A. (Smith) and husband Brian Reynolds, Johnstown; Natalie R. Smith, SC; and Timothy W. Smith, Pittsburgh. Also, four great grandchildren, Madelyn and Remington Baker and Liam and Charleigh Reynolds. She is also survived by a nephew Ralph E. Schneck and nieces Althea Seese and Christine Ritter. Gram, as she was called by her grandchildren, enjoyed going to bingo, playing pinochle with her friends, and was an avid bowler. She will be remembered for her unselfish love and devotion to her family, her faith, and the memories made in the home she and Pap built together. She was a member of the Allegheny Lutheran Home Auxiliary, Harmony Singing Society, Upper Yoder Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she worshiped faithfully. At her request there will be no viewing. A service will be held at 11 AM Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust St., Rev. Michael A. Van Dyke officiating. Entombment at Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
