Eugene John George

George, Eugene J., Jr. 77, Las Vegas, NV, passed away February 26, 2021 in Las Vegas.  Born in Johnstown on January 14, 1944, son of the late Eugene J. and Alberta (Miller) George, Sr.  He grew up in old Westmont and was a 1962 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School.  He was a 1966 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.  For over 30 years Gene was a Montessori school teacher in California.  Upon retirement he moved to Las Vegas, NV for the last 10 years.  He was a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies.  His hobbies were drawing, painting and collecting sports memorabilia.  He is survived by his brother John and his wife Alice, nephews Curtis (Jennifer), Luke (Erin), and niece Anissa George; grand nephew William and grand niece Maddie.  Funeral mass will be held at St. John Gualbert Cathedral on Thursday, April 8 at 1:30 PM, Very Rev. James Crookston officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
