Florence L. (Yates) Smothers

Florence L. Smothers, 96, Johnstown, died August 21, 2018.  She was born January 13, 1922, in Johnstown, daughter of the late William and Matilda (Wilson) Yates.  Preceded in death by husband LaBruce Smothers in 1983, and brothers William, James and Paul, and sisters Mildred and Irene.  Survived by daughter, Patricia Holmes  and grandson Christopher Holmes, both of Philadelphia, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.  Member of the former Trinity Asbury Church and a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  Florence was employed as a clerk at the former Bretts Clothing Store in Johnstown.  Friends will be received Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 10 AM, until the funeral service which will be held at 11 AM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., Revs. Valerie Conrad and Julius Porcher officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
