Gloe Gene (Carothers) Wissinger

Wissinger, Gloe Gene, 96, Johnstown, passed away June 4, 2020.  Gloe was born December 27, 1923, Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles F. and Sadie M. (Paden) Carothers.  Gloe was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Wissinger; daughter, Deborah A. Barkley and brother, Charles F. Carothers, Jr.  She is survived by daughter, Leslie J. (Wissinger), wife of Dominick Sacerino; son, Richard W. married to Barbara (McCusker) Wissinger, all of Johnstown.  Gloe is survived by grandchildren; Stephanie Wingard, wife of James, Alum Bank; Richard Barkley, Fishertown; William Wissinger, married to Amanda (Poraczky), Johnstown; Anthony Sacerino, married to Beth (Gerlach), Franklin; and Stephen Sacerino, Glen Burnie, MD.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren:  Isabella and Maya Wingard; Reyce and Kalle Wissinger; and Logan Sacerino.  Gloe retired from the former Glosser Brothers Department Store.  After her retirement, she volunteered for several years at St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store.  She was a member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church and frequently attended Roxbury-St. Paul United Methodist Church in her later years.  Gloe lived for her family and will be sadly missed by all of us.  Social distancing and mask-wearing are requested.  Friends will be received Tuesday, June 9, 2020, from Noon until 2 pm when service begins with Terry Knipple officiating at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., West Hills, 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown.  Interment Maple Springs Cemetery, Jerome, PA.
