Harold "Hal" Trevenen Obituary

Trevenen, Harold E. “Hal”, 86, Johnstown, died November 11, 2020.  Born February 9, 1934 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Edward H. and Edna J. (Johns) Trevenen.  Also preceded in death by first wife of 40 years, Carol Lee (Mickel); sister Edith Lotz and her husband Garrison, along with many precious loved ones.  He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Margaret C. (Loncella) of Windber; his children, Susan Campbell (Joseph), Johnstown; David (Linda), Irwin, PA; Steven, Dayton, OH; Scott (Caroline), Pittsburgh; step-children Robert Gomulka (Michelle) and Kimberly Huenke (Jim), Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.  Hal was a respected banking professional for over 40 years, having risen to the office of bank president and COO of Fayette Bank, Uniontown, eventually retiring from Laurel Bank, Johnstown in 1999 at age 65.  He was a man of his communities, actively serving on boards and for associations including, but not limited to: The Red Cross, Penn State-Fayette, Cities in Schools, and the Girl Scouts Talus Rock Council.  Hal’s lifelong passion was the game of tennis.  He competed in high school, for Colgate University, for the US Army team, in the US Open at Forest Hills, and in various local tournaments during his many years in Johnstown.  The one thing he loved more than tennis was family:  his wife, children and grandchildren.  He was a proud “PopPop” and reveled in the achievements of loved ones.  Hal was a man of calm, consistent faith.  He passes into God’s hands at peace.  Friends will be received at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. on Saturday from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM, Rev. William Rosenbaum, officiating.  In lieu of flowers family is requesting donations to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA  15963.  Arrangements by Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc.
