Ida Marie Burnett

With hearts full of love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Ida Marie Burnett (Poochie) who departed this life on July 1, 2025, at the age of 78. in Johnstown 

Born on January 14, 1947, Ida was the beloved daughter of the late Howard G. Burnett and Mary A. Burnett. She was a woman whose life was defined by her love for her family and unwavering commitment to those around her.

Ida was preceded in death by her cherished sister Viola I Anthony and dear brother Richard Burnett. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted children: her daughter Dawn M. Andrews (William) of South Carolina and her son Joe E. Greenwood (Lori) of Delaware. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Carolina Brandon of North Carolina, Hope Jones of Pittsburgh, and brother-in law Robert D Anthony. Ida was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Nikki Tullis (Marisol)of Maryland, Tasha Hale (Jason) of South Carolina, Dashanna Andrews of South Carolina, Joe E. Greenwood III, and Sydni Greenwood, both of Delaware. Her joy continued through her three great-grandchildren: Takiyah Hale, Jason Hale III, and Sophie Kennedy. She held a special place in her heart for her godchild, Andrea Rouse, who, like many found strength and comfort in Ida’s wisdom and warm embrace. She also leave behind a host of nieces and nephews 

Ida Marie Burnett was a guiding light to all who knew her as a nurturer, a friend, and a warrior. Her legacy is etched into the hearts of her family and community, and her memory will be treasured always.

A celebration of her life will be held at Picking Treece Bennett Mortuary 921 Menoher Blvd Johnstown, PA 15905, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 3:00 pm by the family. In this time of grief, we remember and give thanks for the life of a remarkable woman whose love knew no bounds
