Jack Green Obituary

 

 

John N. “Jack” Green, 91, of Davidsville, passed away November 2nd, 2021. He was born August 5th, 1930, in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Richard E. and Margaret B. (Roberts) Green. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by his first wife, Nancy M. (DeFrehn) Green in 1987, daughter Stacey (Green) Dezelon in May 2021, married to Richard Dezelon; brothers Richard J., James C., D. Thomas, Vernon J., and sister, Audrey A. Green. Also survived by sister, Barbara J. Koharchik, Indianapolis, IN.

Survived by his wife, the former Mary Carroll (Grady) (Anderson) Green. Jack is survived by his children: David R. (Jeni) Green, Pottstown, PA., Susan M. (Daniel) Wolfberg, Easton, MD; and his grandchildren: Megan (Vince) Frasure; Jonathan (Aline) Green, Mary Hannah Landolfi, and Jeremy Wolfberg. Also survived by several great grandchildren. Survived by stepdaughter Rebecca (Anthony) Wasson, Pittsburgh, PA, and three step grandchildren: Benjamin, Connor, and Cole Wasson.

A 1948 graduate of the former Southmont High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Jack retired in 1990 from Penelec after 30 years of service. He was past president of the Penn Wood Players and the former Johnstown Area Arts Council. Jack served as concert manager of the former Johnstown Community Concert Association. He was an avid gardener. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will be no public viewing. Funeral service will be private, with inurnment at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements by Picking Treece Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. Family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Cancer Research and Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Jack’s memory.

The family would like to thank Angie in the food and nutrition department of Conemaugh Hospital. Also, Interim Hospice nurses for all their loving care and concern. We will be forever grateful for their help.
