Joan L. Oswald, 78, Southmont, died May 31, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 24, 1943, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Ross Bloom and Ethel (Clites) Bloom. Also preceded in death by husband John in 2018 and twin sister Joyce in 1998. Survived by loving children, Matthew J. Oswald, Ashville, NC; and daughter Amanda J. Harrington (James), Davidsville; and beloved grandchildren Allie and Ian; and sister Sandra Buchan, Port Charlotte, FL and many nieces and nephews. Former owner of Step-In Shoe Store. Former member of Windber Country Club where she was club champion in 1984. Joan and John enjoyed several winters in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, where they made many friends. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Holiday gatherings were not complete without her broccoli casserole. She was always young at heart. May her adventurous spirit live on in all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or plant a tree in Joan’s memory. Friends will be received on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 10:00 until the time of services at 11:00 AM, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
