Joseph Stigers

Joseph Stigers, 67, passed away July 13, 2023 in Westmont, formerly of Southmont.  Born January 8, 1956 in Johnstown, son of James and Rosella (Rogel) Stigers.  Preceded in death by parents, wife Deborah (Williams) Stigers who passed away October 20, 2021, sisters-in-law Karen Stigers, Brenda Penrod, brother-in-law Tim Penrose and mother-in-law Ruth Williams.  Survived by brothers Jim Stigers; John Stigers and wife Cheryl Keith; and sister Rose Anne Penrose.  He is also survived by brothers-in-law Merle (Susie) Penrod; Arthur Williams; and father-in-law Bruce R Williams, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He was an animal lover who leaves behind his 2 cats, Bonnie and Clyde.  After retiring from a career in the Air Force, where he served during Desert Storm, he worked at DRH Laurel Technologies and Safari Cleaners.  Joe loved to travel and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He also enjoyed building and working on model trains and villages.  He also loved cooking and music.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 PM until the time of service at 7 PM at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., Rev. James Crookston officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
