Kathleen E. “Polly” Ickes, 97, Johnstown, died March 8, 2019, at Allegheny Lutheran Home. She was born November 12, 1921, daughter of the late Harvey and Bernice Williams, and also predeceased by her husband, William C., Sr., son, William C. Ickes, Jr., grandson, William C. Ickes, III; and several brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Polly, married to William Grubb, Mineral Point; sister, Nancy Sinesi, Naples, FL; daughter-in-law Magaly Ickes, of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Maggie, Angela, John, and Beth Ann; great-grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, William IV, Josh, Bobby and Gabriel; great-great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jasen; nieces, Vicki and Sharon, and nephews, Don, Randy, Alan, and Jimmy. Kathleen was known for making the best apple pies in the world. And above everything she loved her family. She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church, Vine St., Johnstown, where services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Rev. Walter Startzel officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7, at Picking-Treece-Bennnett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.
