Kay Wadsworth Obituary

Kay Frances Wadsworth, 83, Johnstown, died November 15, 2022.  She was born March 23, 1939, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles and Violet (Frazier) Mishler. Kay was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur “Al” Wadsworth in 2016, and siblings Charles “Chuck” Mishler; Gene and Millard Mardis; and the greatest, funniest and best “seester” ever, Barbara “Barb” Eller.  Survived by children Kenneth (Arlene Chion), Johnstown; Brian (Lynn Hunter), Milton, FL;   Raymond (Helen VonBergen), Navarre, FL; and David (Lea Ackerman), Friedens; grandchildren, Larry, Angie, Ashley, Beth, Bethanie, Levi, Kylie; and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Cassidy, Josie, Gabriel, Zachariah, Jonah and Luke; and numerous nieces and nephews; and last but not least Tigger, the cat.  Kay loved and served our Lord Jesus every day of her life.  Kay was a member of the Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church and really enjoyed “The Sermon on the Lake” services.  Kay loved her church family with all her heart.  Kay (aka Kernvilles mom) taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for 40+ years at the Johnstown First Brethren Church.  She loved teaching children about Jesus and had a passion to spread the Gospel.  If you’re old enough and from the neighborhood we are sure you’ll remember the little green house on Robb Ave. where “Al” could be heard singing hymns and Kay outside hanging laundry.  If you remember those “church people” on Robb Ave., swing by Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. on Friday from 3-7 PM. and say hello.  Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 AM, Rev. Gary Masorjak officiating.  Interment Headricks Union Cemetery.
