Lois J. Mish

Lois J. (Kunkle) Mish, 95, of Johnstown, PA, died April 25, 2025at Hilltop Heights Health & Rehab Center after an lengthy illness.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank L. and Catherine R. Kunkle, and her husband John J. Mish.  She is survived by her sons Jack (Sharon) , Johnstown and Bob (Claire), Canonsburg; grandchildren Amy Swenson (Sam), Annapolis, MD; Kyle Mish (Laine), Altoona; Mike Mish (Alison), Canonsburg; Matt Mish (Jozie), Pittsburgh; also 8 great grandchildren; Katelyn and Carter Swenson; Jensen and Eva Mish; Emily, Ethan, Owen and Madalyn Mish.  She is additionally survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.  Knowing and having the opportunity to interact with their lives for so many years was something that Lois always deeply cherished.  Lois was born in Johnstown and lived her entire life , here in her hometown, the place that she liked best.  She was a 1948 graduate of Johnstown High and was actively involved with the planning and organizing class reunions, something she loved to do, until her illness.  Lois worked for many years in the dress department at Glosser Bros. Store downtown, then later at Mary Frances Boutique.  She was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed playing cards-especially Pinochle-with her husband, relatives and her many friends.  Lois was an avid sports fan and attended many, many baseball, basketball, softball, soccer and hockey games, plus numerous tennis matches, to cheer for and support her sons and grandkids.  But most of all, she dearly loved and enjoyed being with her family; holiday gatherings; cookouts; vacations and trips to visit family; just being together with everyone.  She will be greatly missed.  Sincere thanks to all of the medical professionals, caregivers and staff at Senior Life Johnstown and Hilltop Heights for their dedicated service, attention and patience in caring for Lois over the past several years.  Please know that she appreciated it.  There will be no public viewing and all services will be private for immediate family only.
