Louis Jay Poad, 80, Johnstown, died September 2, 2023. He was born January 3, 1943, in Johnstown, son of the late Harry C. E. and Rose M. (Russell) Poad, he was also predeceased by his wife, Doris Jean (Hack) Poad. He is survived by son Jamie J. Poad ,wife Michelle M. (Stevanus), Johnstown: and daughter Heather L. White, husband Captain Carl E. White III, USN, Jacksonville, FL. Grandchildren Kaitlyn M. Poad ,Pittsburgh; Isabella J. White, Altoona; Airman Basic Alex J. Poad, San Antonio, TX; Ryan J. Poad ,Johnstown; and Carl E. White IV ,Jacksonville, FL. Special Granddogs Arlo and Oliver. Survived by sister Beverly Shaffer, Pittsburgh, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jay was a Navy Vietnam veteran; and retired from Three Rivers Sales, Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Johnstown Class of 1961 reunion committee, and former member of the Pink Ribbon Ball Committee. Jay was a member of First Lutheran Church, Vine St. where services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM, Rev. Nancy Hoover officiating. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum. Friends will be received Monday from 4-7 PM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, West Hills. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Windber Hospice.
