Margaret "Peggy" Ann (Clark) Horoff

Margaret (Peggy) Ann (Clark) Horoff of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away on September 11, 2021 with family by her side.  Born July 15,1936, to William and Maude (Wendell) Clark.  Peggy was preceded in death by the love of her life Marvin Beryl Horoff, after 55 years of marriage.

Peggy is survived by daughters Brenda (Richard) Amy of Leesburg, VA; Harriet Ann (Richard) Gustafson of Ashburn, VA; son Jeffrey Horoff of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren Heather Amy, Andrea Bird, Travis Amy and Christopher Gustafson; great-grandchildren Bailey Osborne, Tristian Amy and Brayden Hanson; Brother Richard (Patricia) Clark of New Bern, NC; sisters-in-law Janice Goldstein and Maxine Ikenberg of Coconut Creek, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was also preceded in death by her brothers; Otmer, Wendell, Jay and Robert Clark.

Peggy enjoyed a very successful career in the retail industry beginning as a part-time sales associate with Garfinkel’s in the mid-1970s.  During her almost 20-year career with Garfinkel’s Peggy held the titles of cash office manager, credit and collection manager and finally purchasing manager.  Ending her career in 2006, as the office manager for Rizik’s in Washington, DC.  After retiring to Florida for 13 years, where she was very active in her church and other community organizations, Peggy moved back to Northern Virginia to be closer to family.

Peggy will be remembered for her love of God and family.  She was known not only as mom, but Grandma, MumMum and G-ma.  Peggy enjoyed spending time with family, going to church, cooking, shopping, decorating, and playing games.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2nd at Picking Treece Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.  Pastor Randy Bain, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Peggy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
