Melody E. Andrews-Young

Melody E. Andrews-Young, 50, Johnstown, earned her heavenly wings, May 5, 2022.  Born May 19, 1971, in Johnstown, daughter of Robert P Andrews, Sr., and Dorothy (Dix) Andrews.  She was predeceased by her father, husband Frankie Young, and son, Zachary Gordon Allen Andrews.  Survived by her mother, her much beloved granddaughter, Alaya Kaelyn Andrews, siblings Valerie Andrews-Dixon, MD; April L. Andrews, Johnstown; Robert P. Andrews, Jr. (Leslie), Gibsonia; and Dwight J. Andrews (Kristi Rose) Johnstown; along with the following nieces and nephews, Ashley, Dwight, Bria, Niko, Tyvon, Antuan, Michelle, Kendyl; and many great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins, including Jason Minahan; godson, Gary Walker, Jr.; and close friend Rosalind Twyman-Milbourne.  She was known to be an “Aunt” to many whether related or not.  Melody was a graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech and Cambria-Rowe with a degree in Medical Administration. Then she used her gifts for caring for people in her career, lastly working for Nealen Home Healthcare.  She also had a gift for lifting everyone’s spirit with her sense of humor, and was politically active whether campaigning for Barack Obama, or working the polls. Friends will be received on Friday from 4-7 PM and Saturday from 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00 AM, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd.  Pastor Clarence J. Washington, Philadelphia, PA officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
