Richard Lee Gavin, 66, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Johnstown, died October 15, 2020. He was born, May 10, 1954, in Johnstown, son of the late Patrick W. and Barbara Jean (Williams) Gavin. Preceded in death by his brother, Patrick T. Gavin. He is survived by children, Shane Gavin (Kate), and Erin Gavin Colvin (Donald): all of Johnstown. Loving grandfather of Nora Gavin and Waylon Colvin. Sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Wood and brother-in-law, David, Charlotte, NC. And his significant other, Andrea Ward, Hollidaysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1972 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School, and a 1976 Graduate of West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry. He worked at the Hite Company in various capacities for over 25 years. Rick loved his family more than words and was able to make everyone laugh with his sarcasm and quick wit. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Walden’s View Senior Living Memory Care facility for the exceptional, loving care that they gave to Rick.
