Richard Robert Mills, CPA, 77, Westmont, died October 3, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center due to complications following treatment for an acute stroke. He was born February 1, 1946, son of the late Robert T. And Hazel (Allison) Mills. Survived by loving partner Jane Campdon; daughters Erika Mills, Camp Hill; and Courtney Hoffman (Joseph); grandsons Logan and Jeffrey Hoffman, all of MD; brother David; several nieces and a nephew; and also by long-time friend and secretary Melanie Klesyk. Rick was a graduate of Richland High School, attended UPJ and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was graduated from St. Frances College in 1973 with a degree in accounting. He has been a well-known and respected CPA in the area from then until the time of his passing. He has served on the boards of Cresson Lake Playhouse, the Community Arts Center of Cambria County; Beginnings, Inc. and M.U.V. among others. He was also part of the 1889 Flood Centennial Committee. Rick enjoyed shooting sports and was an expert marksman. He also enjoyed all aspects of the theatre from fund-raising to working on stage crew to coaching actors to performing himself. He was a talented actor who put his all into every role. He also enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked going to Ohiopyle and Shawnee state parks and hiking the Ghost Town Trail. He was fiercely loyal to and protective of those he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and clients. At Rick’s request, there will not be a public visitation, but family and friends may meet for a memorial service at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 337 Elknud Lane. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice in memory of Rick.
